1. Who We Are

ConfideFriends is operated by Loving Tree Technology LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). Our platform at confidefriends.com provides an anonymous space for people to share thoughts, seek guidance, and potentially find meaningful connections with strangers.

2. Who Can Use ConfideFriends

You must be at least 18 years old to use ConfideFriends. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and that you meet all other eligibility requirements set forth in these Terms.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts of users who misrepresent their age.

3. Your Account

ConfideFriends is designed to be anonymous. Your public identity is always your nickname — never your real name. However, we require your full legal name at registration for identity verification and legal compliance. Your full name is stored securely and is never shown publicly, shared with other users, or used for any purpose other than account security and legal obligations.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions
• You may not impersonate other users or real people
• Your nickname must not contain personal identifying information

4. What You Can and Cannot Post

ConfideFriends exists for honest human expression. We want people to feel free to share real thoughts, feelings, struggles, wins, and questions. We do not judge the content of your posts — but we do maintain clear limits to protect our community.

You can post:

• Personal vents, frustrations, and emotional expressions
• Secrets and things you can't share with people you know
• Requests for guidance and perspective
• Wins, achievements, and good news
• Honest opinions, even controversial ones
• Discussions of relationships, intimacy, career, family, and personal struggles

You cannot post:

• Content expressing active intent to harm yourself or others
• Content that sexualizes minors in any way
• Content targeting a specific real person with intent to harass or harm
• Spam, advertising, or promotional content
• Content designed to facilitate illegal activity
• Content that is deliberately false and harmful to others

5. Our AI Safety System

All posts and replies on ConfideFriends are reviewed by an AI safety system before publication. This system is designed to:

• Allow the vast majority of honest human expression
• Identify content that may indicate a user is in crisis and offer appropriate resources
• Prevent content that could cause serious harm to users or others

The AI system is not perfect. It may occasionally make mistakes in either direction — allowing something it shouldn't or flagging something that's fine. We are continuously improving it. If you believe your content was incorrectly flagged, please contact us at hello@confidefriends.com.

Important: Our AI safety system is a tool, not a substitute for professional mental health support. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or crisis service immediately.

6. Crisis Resources

If our AI system detects content suggesting you may be in crisis, we will share relevant resources with you. This is not a judgment — it is care. These resources include:

• Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
• RAINN: 1-800-656-HOPE
• National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233
• The Trevor Project: 1-866-488-7386

7. Replies and the Pool System

ConfideFriends uses a unique reply system. Readers must write a minimum-length reply before they can see other replies to the same post. This is intentional — it ensures that every voice in a thread is an original voice, not one shaped by what others have already said.

Original posters (OPs) see all replies privately and can choose to publish individual replies to the broader pool, or remove replies that violate our guidelines. OPs may also mark repliers as potential friends, which opens a private messaging channel.

8. Private Messaging

Private messaging on ConfideFriends is only available between users who have been mutually connected through the "Possible Friend" system. Messages in private channels are subject to the same safety review as public posts. All private messages are subject to our content policies.

9. Reporting, Blocking, and Objectionable Content

ConfideFriends has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Every post, reply, and message includes a Report action, and every reply author and message sender can be Blocked.

Our commitment:

• We review every report of objectionable content within 24 hours of submission.
• Content that violates our Community Guidelines will be removed.
• Users who post objectionable content, harass others, or abuse the platform may have their accounts suspended or permanently terminated without notice.
• Content flagged for categories involving minors, sexual content, or self-harm is automatically hidden pending review.

Objectionable content includes but is not limited to: harassment, hate speech, sexual content, content that sexualizes or endangers minors, content that glorifies or facilitates self-harm or violence, spam, and impersonation.

When you block a user: You will no longer see their posts, replies, or messages, and they cannot contact you. Blocks are mutual in effect — they cannot see your content either.

To report content, use the "⋯" menu on any post, reply, or message. To block a user, use the same menu or visit your Profile → Blocked Users.

10. Content Ownership

You own the content you post. By posting on ConfideFriends, you grant Loving Tree Technology LLC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and process your content as necessary to operate the platform. This includes the right to generate AI summaries of your posts for display in the public feed.

You can delete your posts at any time. Deleted content is removed from public view immediately, though it may remain in our backup systems for up to 30 days.

11. No Professional Advice

ConfideFriends is a platform for peer connection and expression. Nothing on this platform constitutes professional medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. AI confidants — including those labeled "Old Friend," "Therapist," "Coach," "Mentor," and "Stranger" — are generated by artificial intelligence and are not provided by licensed mental health professionals, licensed coaches, or any credentialed practitioners. They are not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988 (free, 24/7). If you need professional help, please seek it from a qualified professional.

12. ConfideFriends Pro Subscription

ConfideFriends Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes the 10-message cap on individual conversation threads (both AI confidants and friend DMs). The core app remains free without Pro.

Pricing and billing

• $7.99 USD per month (prices in other currencies are set by Apple for your region)
• Billed monthly to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase
• Auto-renews monthly until you cancel
• Renewal is charged within 24 hours of the end of the current period

Canceling your subscription

• Cancel anytime via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → ConfideFriends Pro
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro access for the rest of the period you've paid for
• To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends

Refunds

All refund requests are handled by Apple, not by ConfideFriends. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's refund policies apply.

What Pro includes

• Unlimited messages with every AI confidant voice
• Unlimited messages with every friend you meet
• Removal of the 10-message cap on any conversation thread

Your subscription and your account

Your Pro subscription is tied to your Apple ID. If you sign in to ConfideFriends on a different device with the same Apple ID, your Pro status will be available after you restore purchases (from the paywall screen or Profile → ConfideFriends Pro). If you sign in with a different Apple ID, the subscription will not transfer.

If you delete your ConfideFriends account, your Pro subscription is NOT automatically canceled with Apple — you must cancel it separately via iOS Settings to stop future billing.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Loving Tree Technology LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of ConfideFriends, including but not limited to:

• Content posted by other users
• Connections or relationships formed through the platform
• Actions taken based on content read on the platform
• Technical failures, data loss, or service interruptions

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed $100 USD.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Loving Tree Technology LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content, or your violation of these terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
